On January 17, 2025, as the Chinese New Year approached, the President of the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, Sun Jianwei, along with Dato’ Chan Foong Hin, the Deputy Minister of Malaysia’s Ministry of Plantation and Commodities, gathered with distinguished guests at the Yanghe Baijiu Cultural Experience Center in Malaysia to celebrate the Spring Festival.
The event was warm and festive, with guests participating in the traditional “lo hei” (prosperity toss) ceremony, enjoying authentic cuisine and fine wine, and immersing themselves in the unique charm created by the fusion of Jiangsu culture and Malaysian Chinese traditions.
Notable guests included Fan Ruikeng, President of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Foundation. From the business association, attendees included Vice President Lyu Yongxiang, Vice Presidents Wang Xingyao and Wei Huali, Deputy Secretary-General Dai Zhihua, and member enterprise representative Ni Jie.

During the dinner, representatives from the Association engaged in an in-depth discussion with Deputy Minister Dato’ Chan on key topics such as investment perspectives in the plantation sector, practical experiences of investing in Malaysia, and the current status of oil palm trade between Jiangsu Province and Malaysia. The Deputy Minister shared valuable insights and offered professional advice, providing strong momentum for deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and Malaysia.
Additionally, the event was attended by Deputy Minister’s special assistants Teih Jian Peng, Ben Lim, and the Research Manager from Merdeka Center for Opinion Research Tan Seng Keat, as well as Assistant to the President, Tan Choon Tee.
All attendees exchanged good wishes, hoping for the long-lasting friendship between Malaysia and China, and expressed anticipation for the two countries to deepen cooperation with sincerity, moving forward to an even brighter future.
