Huai’an City in Jiangsu Province is one of the strategic hubs for economic development in the Yangtze River Delta region, with extensive experience and resource advantages in advanced manufacturing and other industries. To further deepen economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Huai’an and Malaysia, and to promote mutual benefits for enterprises in both regions, Vice Mayor Zhang Chonglin of the Huai’an Municipal People’s Government recently led a delegation to Malaysia.
On the afternoon of August 7 at 4:00 PM, the delegation visited Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, where they were warmly received by President Sun Jianwei. An exchange meeting was held to explore Malaysia’s current industrial development landscape and potential opportunities, aiming to foster collaboration between both parties.

Since its establishment, the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association has been committed to building a platform for bilateral enterprise exchanges, promoting cooperation in trade, investment, and technology between both regions.
President Sun Jianwei provided an overview of Malaysia’s current economic environment, legal framework, and the Association’s achievements in fostering China-Malaysia economic and trade cooperation in recent years. He stated:
“As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of China-Malaysia diplomatic relations, bilateral economic and trade exchanges have become increasingly close. The Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association remains dedicated to welcoming and supporting businesses from our hometown, ensuring that overseas Huai’an enterprises receive strong backing. We strive to assist businesses in navigating risks and achieving steady growth as they expand internationally. While we encourage enterprises to ‘go global,’ we also act as ambassadors in promoting Jiangsu, actively attracting investment for our hometown. Moving forward, we will continue to serve as a bridge, contributing to the economic and trade cooperation between Huai’an and Malaysia.”
During the exchange, Vice Mayor Zhang Chonglin highly commended the contributions of the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association in supporting Chinese enterprises expanding overseas, providing them with confidence in their international ventures.
As the “Hometown of Great Figures,” a “Historic and Cultural City,” a “City of Gastronomy,” and an “Emerging Industrial Hub,” Huai’an has made remarkable achievements in recent years. With continuous efforts from the government to optimize the business environment and strengthen investment promotion, enterprises in Huai’an benefit from strong policy support and vast market opportunities.
Vice Mayor Zhang highlighted, “Huai’an has achieved leapfrog development in urbanization and industrialization, with steady growth in both GDP and industrial investment. The city has demonstrated strong momentum in sectors such as equipment manufacturing, electronics, and photovoltaics, even in challenging economic conditions. The Huai’an government places great emphasis on industrial development, investment attraction, and industry collaboration, laying a solid foundation for high-quality regional economic growth.”
He extended a sincere invitation to Malaysian entrepreneurs to visit Huai’an for investment and exploration, aiming to seize development opportunities and achieve mutually beneficial cooperation.

In the current global economic landscape, Chinese enterprises are actively seeking overseas expansion, and Malaysia has become an ideal destination due to its strong industrial foundation and market advantages.
The delegation highlighted that, compared to other ASEAN countries, Malaysia not only boasts a more mature industrial system but also offers vast development opportunities and market potential for Chinese enterprises, supporting their international strategic expansion. They also emphasized the importance of synergy and collaboration across industrial supply chains.
Both the Association and the delegation agreed that strengthening regional economic cooperation and exchanges will create broader development prospects and new opportunities for both regions.
In the wave of economic globalization, regional economic and trade cooperation has increasingly become a key driver of local economic development.
The successful hosting of this exchange meeting not only deepened mutual understanding of each other’s economic environments but also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration. Both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening communication, actively exploring new models and pathways for cooperation, and jointly advancing deeper economic and trade collaboration between Huai’an and Malaysia.
