On June 28, the “I’ll Wait for You in Wuxi” – Wuxi (Kuala Lumpur) Tourism Promotion and Exchange Conference, hosted by Wuxi Cultural Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd., and co-organized by the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association and the Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association, was successfully held at the China Cultural Center in Kuala Lumpur.

The “I’ll Wait for You in Wuxi” conference showcased Wuxi’s rich cultural and tourism resources, profound cultural charm, and pleasant leisure and vacation atmosphere to the Malaysian tourism industry and citizens.

The exchange conference began with a speech by Qiu Yajun, President of Wuxi Cultural Tourism Development Group. President Qiu highlighted that Wuxi, with over 2,200 years of city history, is a regional center in East China and a city of historical and cultural significance. It is also an international city known for its cultural charm, development vitality, and innovation potential. Wuxi tourists regard Malaysia as a primary outbound travel destination, with more than 100,000 visitors traveling to Malaysia each year. The Huishan Ancient Town Scenic Area, under the Group, has established a friendly cooperation with Jonker Street in Malaysia, laying a foundation for interconnected exchanges and cooperation. Through this promotion conference, they hope to promote the integrated development of cultural and tourism sectors between the two regions.

Zhang Jiexin, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Kuala Lumpur, also gave a subsequent speech. He noted that Malaysia has always been a popular overseas travel destination for Chinese tourists and is an important inbound tourism market for China. The tourism sector between the two countries has rapidly returned to normal post-pandemic, indicating a strong recovery. He expressed hope that the exchange event would further promote mutual exchanges between Malaysia and Wuxi’s tourism industries, expand local interactions, and enhance city-to-city cooperation.

Su Wenlong, Deputy Director of the Wuxi Huishan Ancient Town Scenic Area, presented the tourism products and investment projects of the Wuxi Cultural Tourism Development Group. During the event, the Wuxi Cultural Tourism Development Group signed strategic cooperation agreements with the Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association and Xinyao Service Trade Co., Ltd. Additionally, special recognition was given to several individuals: Bao Yixiong, President of the Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association; Sun Jianwei, Executive President of the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association; and Lu Yongwei, Executive Director of Pearl Holidays Travel Co., Ltd., who were awarded the titles of “Wuxi Cultural Tourism Promotion Ambassadors.
