The Jiangsu-Malaysia Economic and Trade Exchange Seminar was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur

On June 22, the Jiangsu-Malaysia Economic and Trade Exchange Seminar, organized by the Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Federation, Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, and co-organized by the Malaysia Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Sanjiang Association, was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The seminar focused on introducing and discussing the investment and business environment in Jiangsu and Malaysia. The goal was to provide bilateral business representatives with a comprehensive understanding of the current investment background and lay the foundation for future trade cooperation.

The meeting was attended by over 80 representatives, including Malaysian Member of Parliament YB Lee Chean Chung, Selangor State MP YB Hee Loy Sian, Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Federation Vice Chairman Zhang Ni, as well as representatives from the Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Malaysia Jiangsu Enterpreneurs Business Association, Malaysia Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Sanjiang Association. Among the attendees, the Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce sent a delegation of 35 high-quality Jiangsu entrepreneurs and other guests. The visit focused on examining investment and business opportunities in Malaysia and conducting business exchanges.

Mr. Sun Jianwei, Executive President of the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, stated that this year has seen many high-level visits between Malaysia and China. These include the official visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Anwar to China and the visit of China’s NPC Chairman Zhao Leji to Malaysia. These visits highlight the leadership’s expectations and determination for developing bilateral relations and economic and trade exchanges between the two countries. The Malaysia Jiangsu Business Association is dedicated to supporting the investment and development of enterprises from both sides in Jiangsu and Malaysia. The Association will continue to serve as a platform, contributing to bilateral investment and trade.

At the conference, Ms. Zhang Ni, Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation, provided an introduction to Jiangsu’s economic and cultural development and the Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Business Association’s involvement. She highlighted the long-standing history of China-Malaysia relations and the significant support and contributions made by overseas Chinese and businesspeople towards bilateral exchanges and development. She concluded by outlining four expectations, emphasizing the need for increased business and cultural exchanges between China and Malaysia to further bilateral development.

Finally, YB Lee Chean Chung introduced Malaysia’s excellent investment and business environment, as well as its cultural environment. As a multi-ethnic and multilingual country, Malaysia is continuously improving its legal and business policies under the leadership of the government. He expressed hope that more high-quality foreign enterprises would invest in Malaysia.

At this conference, the Nanjing Jiangning Business District Management Committee signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Sanjiang Association, and the Nanjing Gulou District Investment Promotion Center signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association.
