The Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association co-hosted and organized the “Overseas Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association Work Promotion Conference and China-Malaysia Business Exchange Conference

On the afternoon of September 10th at 3:30 PM, Hu Ming, Vice Chairman of the Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce, led a delegation to the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association for a discussion and exchange session. The President of the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, Sun Jianwei, warmly welcomed the delegation and held the meeting.

At 4:00 PM, the “Overseas Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association Work Promotion Conference and China-Malaysia Business Exchange Conference,” organized by the Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce and co-organized and hosted by the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, was held in the seminar room on the 1st floor of the Kuala Lumpur Chinese Chamber of Commerce building. Vice Chairman Hu Ming of the Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce, President Sun Jianwei of the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, Legal Advisor Dato’ Dr. Teh Tai Yong, Vice President of Malaysia’s Dahua Bank Sean Chu, President of the Malaysia Chinese Catering Industry Association Gao Haoyun, and Director of the Malaysia Belt and Road Committee Teow Jenn Yang attended the meeting.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, and their bilateral relationship has been elevated from a strategic partnership to a community of shared future. “Currently, China-Malaysia relations are characterized by solid political mutual trust, deepening interest integration, and vast space for cooperation. I hope that the entrepreneurs present here will seize this opportunity, seek business opportunities in Malaysia, strengthen and grow their enterprises, and use Malaysia as a hub to radiate the ASEAN market, contributing to the promotion of bilateral economic and trade exchanges and cooperation.”

President Sun Jianwei expressed in his speech that he would adhere to the sentiment of developing his hometown and contribute to attracting investment for his hometown, promoting more excellent Malaysian entrepreneurs to develop and invest in Jiangsu Province, and helping the economic development of his hometown.

Vice Chairman Hu Ming, on behalf of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, the United Front Work Department, the Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce, and the delegation, sincerely thanked the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association for its strong support and hard work in ensuring the success of this visit. In his speech, he mentioned that since its establishment, the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association has always adhered to the correct principles of running the association, actively creating various platforms, especially for serving the development of Su merchants in Malaysia. With family, hometown, and friendship ties, the association has closely united and bonded Su merchants in Malaysia, becoming an important platform for gathering hometown sentiment, consolidating strength, and seeking common development, as well as a crucial channel for sharing information and communicating internally and externally. In recent years, faced with the complex and ever-changing international situation, the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association has taken initiative, been courageous in shouldering responsibility, and built a platform for economic and trade exchanges, served the development of member enterprises, actively promoted the Su merchant spirit, and carried out all its work with clear focus, vibrancy, sincerity, and effectiveness.

The holding of this meeting coincides with the 17th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference. Through exchanges with the Malaysian side, Chairman Hu Ming expressed that the Malaysian government’s open governance philosophy aligns closely with the Chinese government’s theory of building a community with a shared future for mankind. He fully acknowledged the Malaysian government’s series of preferential policies for Chinese-funded enterprises developing in Malaysia. He emphasized that Jiangsu and Malaysia have complementary advantages, and the foundation for future cooperation is solid, with a broad outlook. He hopes that overseas entrepreneurs from Jiangsu will thoroughly understand the Malaysian market, business environment, and relevant legal systems to ensure the safety of overseas investments. “I hope that everyone present can seize the opportunity, engage in active communication, collaborate on an equal footing, and jointly promote development. I also sincerely hope that the overseas Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association and private enterprises can tell the world the story of Jiangsu enterprises’ commitment to innovation, coordinated development, green development, and open development, further establishing a good global image of Jiangsu enterprises. With a more open mind and broader vision, they can expand the global market, carry out international cooperation, and strive for better quality, higher efficiency, stronger competitiveness, and greater influence, integrating into the new global landscape of the Belt and Road Initiative.” Vice Chairman Hu Ming also stated that he will further build communication platforms for the China-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and enterprises, create more opportunities, enhance the linkage effect of both domestic and international markets and resources, and improve the quality and level of trade and investment cooperation.

United Overseas Bank (UOB), as the largest foreign bank in Malaysia and the only Southeast Asian bank to sign a strategic agreement with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, has a history of over 80 years in Malaysia. At the seminar, Vice President Chu Junxiao provided a comprehensive introduction to Malaysia’s investment environment, including the country’s economic strength, workforce, key sectors, free trade agreements (FTAs), economic regions, and related government agencies. He stated that Malaysia has a developed trade network, strategic hubs, a multilingual and professional workforce, a thriving diversified market, and a business-friendly environment, making it an attractive long-term investment destination.

It is worth mentioning that the UOB Group established the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Consulting Department in 2011. Through partnerships with government agencies, trade and industry associations, and professional service organizations, the department provides consulting and “one-stop” services beyond traditional banking to help businesses entering Southeast Asia better integrate into the local market. As the first regional bank to set up such an institution, UOB has 10 FDI teams. To fully support the Belt and Road Initiative, UOB has also established China Business Departments in China, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam to assist Chinese companies in their internationalization process.

The Secretary-General of the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, Ye Langheng, provided a detailed report on the Business Association’s work in recent years. He stated that the Business Association will assist new businesses coming to Malaysia in settling down quickly and familiarizing themselves with the local investment and business environment. For companies already operating in Malaysia, the Business Association will provide consultancy and services to support their development. It will also establish communication platforms for entrepreneurs from both China and Malaysia, build cooperation channels, and expand business opportunities.

During the exchange, Gu Minghua, Executive Vice President of the Jiangsu Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association and Chairman of Suzhou UOB Enterprise Group, stated that they will strengthen communication and cooperation with Malaysian organizations to contribute to bilateral development.

Wei Baojun, President of the Huai’an Qingjiangpu Young Entrepreneurs Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Jiangsu Kairun Construction Group Co., Ltd., stated that he is very pleased to establish communication with the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association through this learning opportunity. He expressed that they will actively work together to build a cooperative and mutually beneficial exchange platform.

At the end of the meeting, the Huai’an Qingjiangpu Young Entrepreneurs Chamber of Commerce and the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association signed a friendly cooperation agreement.

The successful conclusion of the “Overseas Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce Work Promotion Meeting and China-Malaysia Business Exchange Conference” not only marks a significant step forward in economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu Province and Malaysia, but also builds a bridge of mutual communication and win-win cooperation for entrepreneurs from both sides. The successful organization of this meeting not only demonstrates the proactive efforts of the Jiangsu Federation of Industry and Commerce and the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association in promoting China-Malaysia economic and trade relations, but also signals that future opportunities and cooperation in investment, trade, technology, and other fields will emerge for businesses from both regions. Looking ahead, entrepreneurs from both China and Malaysia will join hands and, with a more open mindset and pragmatic actions, jointly write a new chapter in the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, and explore new opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both sides, China-Malaysia economic and trade relations will continue to reach new heights, making greater contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
