From November 7th to 9th, 2024, the 11th World Fujian Convention was held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. This grand event brought together Fujian fellow countrymen and community leaders from around the world, aiming to promote Chinese culture, strengthen ties among hometowns, and advance deep cooperation in various fields such as economy, culture, and society. The conference focused on promoting business exchanges and technological innovation. Through business matchmaking, exhibitions, and thematic forums, it further solidified the important position of the Fujian community in international cooperation.
At the opening ceremony, Tan Sri Dato’ Johari bin Abdul, Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives, delivered a speech, affirming the positive role of the Fujian community in promoting multiculturalism and fostering economic development.

Sun Jianwei, President of the Malaysian Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, was invited to attend the event. Secretary-General Ye Langheng represented the Business Association and participated in the grand gathering alongside Fujian fellow countrymen from around the world. During the event, representatives from the Malaysia Jiangsu Business Association engaged in friendly exchanges with the Malaysian Fujian Associations Federation and other attending groups, discussing ways to further strengthen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, and culture.
Tan Sri Dato’ Lim Hock San, President of the Malaysian Fujian Associations Federation, stated during the opening ceremony that this conference is not only a platform for emotional exchanges among Fujian compatriots but also an important opportunity to promote unity and cooperation among overseas Chinese communities worldwide. He emphasized, “We hope that through this conference, we can further consolidate the connections between Fujian associations around the world and jointly promote the inheritance and development of Chinese culture.”
The conference also facilitated two significant outcomes: the establishment of the ASEAN Fujian Associations Federation and the initiation of preparations for the founding of the Australian Fujian Hometown Association. These newly established organizations will focus on strengthening the ties between the Fujian community in ASEAN and Oceania, creating a cross-regional collaboration platform and further enhancing the global influence of Fujian overseas Chinese.
As a special invited guest, the Malaysian Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association participated in the conference and discussed business opportunities and cooperation prospects with representatives from around the world. The participation of the Jiangsu Business Association marked the further expansion of the conference platform, establishing a new connection between the Fujian community and Jiangsu enterprises. As partners in friendly cooperation, the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association held discussions with the leadership of the Fujian Associations Federation, and both sides agreed that under the Belt and Road Initiative, the two chambers would adopt a more open approach to explore the potential for cooperation in economic development and cultural exchanges.
Ye Langheng, Secretary-General of the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, stated, “Jiangsu and Fujian are close geographically, and our cultures are similar. We look forward to working with Fujian compatriots to further develop Malaysia-China relations, especially in areas such as cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises, technology, and cultural exchanges.”

The conference lasted for three days, featuring activities such as thematic forums, cultural performances, and business negotiations. As one of the attending representatives, the Malaysian Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association not only showcased the strength and charm of Jiangsu’s business community but also joined hands with Fujian compatriots from around the world to write a new chapter of friendship.
