On October 29, 2024, the Fourth Committee Meeting of the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Youth Committee was held in Nanjing, attracting over 200 young representatives from Jiangsu and abroad. The conference reviewed the third committee’s work report, revised the committee’s constitution, and elected a new leadership team. Fu Qiang, Vice President of the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, was elected as a standing committee member of the Fourth Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Youth Committee. He will shoulder greater responsibilities in future work. Liu Biao, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation, praised the efforts of the overseas Chinese youth over the past five years and encouraged them to take on missions, contributing to the construction of a “strong, prosperous, beautiful, and high” new Jiangsu. The newly elected president, Sun Xi, Chairman of Hong Kong Kowloon Group, stated that the committee will continue to lead the overseas Chinese youth in unity and innovation, promoting Chinese culture, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, and actively engaging in the national rejuvenation movement.

A special sharing and exchange activity titled “Inheriting the Spirit of Chen Jiageng, Fulfilling the Mission of Overseas Chinese Youth” was arranged during the conference. Young representatives from the overseas Chinese community gained a deeper understanding of the life and spirit of the patriotic entrepreneur Chen Jiageng, pledging to carry forward the “Jiageng Spirit” and uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping’s call for overseas Chinese to promote patriotism and contribute to the development of China, bridging cultural exchanges between China and other countries.

In order to promote connections between overseas and domestic Chinese youth, the conference also hosted the “Overseas Chinese Youth’s Hometown Journey – 2024 Overseas Chinese Youth Returning to Jiangsu” event. Liu Biao, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Jiangsu Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation, encouraged overseas Chinese youth to be innovative and play a bigger role in the process of modernizing Jiangsu. Over the next five years, the Overseas Chinese Youth Committee will focus on practical activities to strengthen the ideological foundation of overseas Chinese youth and lead them to inject vibrant energy into the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
