On September 27, the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, and the China Overseas Friendship Association held a National Day reception for representatives of the overseas Chinese community at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Chen Xiaojiang, the Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and delivered a speech. He stated that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has sounded the clarion call to further deepen reforms and open up broad prospects for Chinese-style modernization. The greater the goal, the more challenging the mission, and it is more important than ever to consolidate and develop the broadest patriotic united front, gathering the powerful force of all Chinese sons and daughters at home and abroad to jointly contribute to the great cause.

Chen Xiaojiang stated that we sincerely hope that overseas Chinese and returned overseas Chinese, along with their families, will participate more broadly and deeply in the great practice of Chinese-style modernization. They should demonstrate new responsibilities and achievements in promoting high-quality development and high-level opening up; vigorously inherit and promote excellent traditional Chinese culture, pay attention to and develop overseas Chinese language education, and promote exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations; actively promote the construction of harmonious overseas Chinese communities, work together for the well-being of these communities, and write a more splendid chapter in the new journey of building a strong nation and achieving national rejuvenation through Chinese-style modernization.
The reception was hosted by Chen Xu, Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. About 460 representatives from overseas Chinese communities and returned overseas Chinese and their families attended. This National Day reception was one of the series of activities for overseas Chinese representatives attending the 2024 National Day events in Beijing. On the morning of September 27, the representatives visited the National Edition Museum of China, where they explored the seed gene bank of Chinese culture.

On September 28, the General Office of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and the China Federation of Overseas Chinese held a National Day reception at the Great Hall of the People to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the CPPCC, attended and delivered a speech.
The reception was hosted by Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department. Some members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee, leaders from the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the State Council, and the CPPCC, along with about 2,000 representatives from various sectors of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese communities, attended the event.

On the evening of September 30, a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China was held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Congress, Xin Changxing, Provincial Party Deputy Secretary and Governor, Xu Kunlin, Provincial CPPCC Chairman Zhang Yizhen, and other leaders gathered with nearly 300 people from various sectors to celebrate the founding of the Republic.
Vice Governor Fang Wei hosted the reception. Leaders from the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People’s Congress, Provincial Government, and Provincial CPPCC, along with main responsible persons from the Provincial Military District, the Jiangsu Provincial Armed Police Force, relevant provincial departments, the Nanjing municipal government, as well as representatives from central agencies based in Jiangsu, foreign experts in Jiangsu, foreign-invested enterprises, international students, Hong Kong and Macao people, Taiwan compatriots and businesses, and overseas Chinese representatives, attended the reception.
