On June 29, the “Tan Sri” Honorary Title Award Ceremony for Chinese Community Leaders and Distinguished Individuals was successfully held at the Chinese Assembly Hall in Kuala Lumpur. The event was attended by almost all of the Chinese recipients of the “Tan Sri” title this year, including Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang, a senior leader of the Democratic Action Party who was recently conferred the title by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

The attendees at the dinner included prominent leaders from the Malaysian Chinese Association (Hua Zong), such as Tan Sri Goh Tian Chuan (President), Dato’ Lim Kah Chuan (Deputy President), Tan Sri Lim Gait Tong (Honorary Life President), Tan Sri Pheng Yin Huah, Tan Sri Koo Yuen Kim (Honorary Advisor), Tan Sri Cheng Tien Li, Dato’ Cheah Yuen An, Tan Sri Chen Zhi Yong, and Zhang Song Sen. Other notable leaders included Tan Sri Chung Ting Sen (Honorary Life President of the Malaysian Chinese Association), Dato’ Wu Ya Lie (Vice President of the Malaysian Fu Lian Association), Lu Guo Xiang (President of the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce), Dato’ Lim Qiu Ya (President of the Malaysian Hainan Association), Zhu You Quan (Treasurer of the Malaysia Jiangsu Business Association), Dato’ Wang Hong Xing (President of the Malaysian Chinese Surnames Association), Dato’ Sri Wu Jin Hua (President of the Malaysian Xing An Association), Liu Jun Xian (President of the Malaysian Zong Xiang Qing Association), and Dato’ Xiao Jian Hao (Director of the International Trade and Industry Group of the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry). In his speech, Tan Sri Woon Tiang Seng emphasized that these Chinese community leaders were honored with various titles and awards due to their significant contributions to the country and society, and their recognition was well-deserved.
