Organized by Sin Chew Daily and sponsored by Universal Charity, the Sin Chew Daily Carnival “One Heart, One Mind, Connecting Jin Xiao” was held in collaboration with Jinxiang Chinese Primary School in Malacca. The event aimed to raise funds for the development and maintenance of the school’s facilities and successfully raised RM 288,888 on September 10, 2023.
Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association actively supported this charity bazaar with generous sponsorship. Executive President Sun Jianwei represented the Association at the opening ceremony and performed the bell-ringing ceremony.
Sun Jianwei expressed his profound respect for the Malaysian Chinese community’s steadfast commitment to preserving Chinese language education in a predominantly Malay country. He highlighted that Chinese education plays a vital role in Malaysia by not only transmitting the essence of Chinese culture but also nurturing many outstanding students who have made significant contributions to society.
Sun Jianwei noted that the Chinese language is a key carrier of Chinese culture. Through Chinese language education, values, traditional customs, historical stories, and cultural heritage are passed down to future generations, maintaining the continuity and uniqueness of the culture. Furthermore, learning Chinese allows Malaysian Chinese to deepen their understanding of their own culture and history, enhancing ethnic identity and fostering cohesion within the community.
China is an important neighbor of Malaysia with a deep historical connection. Learning Chinese can enhance cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries, which positively impacts their friendly relations. Moreover, with China’s rise, proficiency in Chinese offers broader employment and business opportunities, especially in international trade and multinational enterprises, providing a clear competitive advantage.
Sun Jianwei hopes that the Malaysian Chinese community will cherish and diligently preserve this valuable cultural heritage, allowing it to shine even more brightly in the new era.
