The Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Malaysia held a reception to celebrate the 74th anniversary of National Day.

On the evening of September 20, the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Malaysia held a reception to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The event was attended by over 800 guests, including high-ranking officials such as the Minister of Transport, Loke Siew Fook; the Deputy Speaker, Azhar Azizan Harun; the Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad; and the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Tiong King Sing. Also present were party leaders, friends from various sectors, diplomats, overseas Chinese, representatives of Chinese enterprises in Malaysia, and Chinese students.

Ambassador Ouyang Yujing introduced the developments of China and the China-Malaysia relationship in 2023, noting that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Malaysia. She highlighted the frequent high-level exchanges between the two countries, vibrant practical cooperation, and the revival of cultural exchanges. Looking ahead, next year will be the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, and she is confident that the bilateral relationship will continue to progress and reach new heights.

Minister of Transport, Loke Siew Fook, as the guest of honor representing Malaysia, delivered a toast and extended warm congratulations to the People’s Republic of China on the 74th anniversary of its founding.

A vibrant array of artistic performances at the reception

The guests at the event celebrated the Republic’s National Day together, and the atmosphere was friendly and lively.
