Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association Attends The Selangor & Kuala Lumpur San Jiang Association’s Chinese New Year Event, Celebrating the Festive Season and Supporting Education

On February 16, during the Year of the Snake Chinese New Year celebrations, the Selangor & Kuala Lumpur San Jiang Association was filled with festive cheer as it hosted the 2025 Chinese New Year Gathering and Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony for Members’ Children. The Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association was invited to attend this grand event, which carried both cultural significance and an emphasis on education.

The event commenced with a lively lion dance performance, bringing a strong festive atmosphere to the scene. With the rhythmic beats of the drums, the agile lions leaped and spun, delivering a traditional folk performance that set an exciting tone for the event, immersing attendees in the joyful New Year spirit.

A key highlight of the event was the attendance of Minister Counsellor Zheng Xuefang from the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, who was accompanied by Yu Tianxiang, Director of the Consular Section. In his speech, Minister Counsellor Zheng passionately elaborated on the journey of Chinese New Year evolving from a national celebration into a globally recognized UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. He also emphasized that China has remained Malaysia’s largest trading partner for 14 consecutive years, with deepening bilateral economic cooperation and record-high people-to-people exchanges. With Malaysia assuming the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025, Minister Counsellor Zheng expressed his hope for stronger China-Malaysia ties, paving the way for even greater diplomatic and economic collaboration.

Sun Jianwei, President of the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association, was also invited to attend the event, joining other distinguished guests, including Dato’ Lim Chiew Ah, Chairperson of the Seven Major Clans Coordination Committee of Malaysia, Huang Guangxiu, President of the Federation of Zhejiang Associations of Malaysia, and Ting Xuewai, Honorary President of the KL & Selangor Sam Ki Association, to witness this important occasion.

Following the speeches, the Selangor & Kuala Lumpur San Jiang Association President Xuan Zhuhong hosted the traditional Golden Roast Pig Cutting Ceremony. Distinguished guests gathered to slice the symbolic roast pig, expressing their wishes for prosperity and success in the new year.

A notable highlight of the event was President Sun Jianwei’s generous personal donation of RM10,000 towards the Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards for members’ children. As an Honorary President of the Selangor & Kuala Lumpur San Jiang Association, he has consistently supported education initiatives over the years. President Xuan Zhuhong extended heartfelt gratitude to President Sun Jianwei for his longstanding contributions to education and talent development within the Chinese community.

Additionally, Vice President Shang Xufeng and member company representatives Feng Yun and Yap Yau Pin from the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association were also present at the event. Throughout the gathering, President Sun Jianwei engaged warmly with fellow guests, exchanging festive greetings and discussing future cooperation. The event concluded with a group photo featuring President Sun Jianwei, President Xuan Zhuhong, Minister Counsellor Zheng Xuefang, and other distinguished guests, capturing a memorable moment of unity and celebration.

This event was not only a joyous Chinese New Year celebration but also a vibrant showcase of cultural exchange between China and Malaysia. It strengthened the ties between the Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association and local Chinese organizations, injected new momentum into China-Malaysia cooperation, and provided strong support for the development of education within the Chinese community.
