On April 13, the first Yanghe Cup Malaysia-China Guan Dan Tournament, themed “Fate with Card Friends, Leading Guan Dan in Malaysia and China,” was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur. The event was jointly organized by Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association and the Kuala Lumpur Chinese Cultural Centre, with Yanghe Distillery Co., Ltd. as the title sponsor. It attracted over 80 participants from various sectors, including overseas Chinese and people from different industry.

The event site was bustling with excitement, filled with laughter and joy. Participants showcased their excellent skills and strategic thinking in the intense and passionate competition, displaying keen observation and flexible thinking. As the competition reached its climax, every card played became crucial in determining the outcome, and the audience joined in the atmosphere, cheering for their favorite players. Ultimately, the champions, runners-up, and top four were determined amidst everyone’s anticipation. The event concluded with an award ceremony and a banquet.

In 2024, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, the event was not only a contest of skills but also a cultural exchange between the two countries. It allowed participants to experience the power of unity and friendship, showcasing the deep affection between the peoples of Malaysia and China. The event played a positive role in promoting cooperation and development between the two nations.

Guan Dan originated in Huai’an, Jiangsu, combining various gameplay elements from Western bridge and Eastern poker. It is a strategic game that involves resource allocation, wise decision-making, and collaborative tactics, reflecting distinct Chinese ingenuity. With the growing popularity of Guan Dan, it has now become an officially recognized formal sports competition.

Malaysia Jiangsu Entrepreneurs Business Association was established in 2019 and is located at Suite 1-1st Floor, Wisma Chinese Chamber in Kuala Lumpur. It is a non-profit organization formally registered with the Malaysian Registrar of Societies. The Association aims to promote economic, trade, investment, and cultural exchanges between Malaysia and Jiangsu Province.
